Dear University of California, Berkeley Athletics Department,

I am deeply grateful for the tickets to Monday's exhilarating baseball game against Stanford. As a disabled veteran and a proud Stanford graduate, I was faced with a unique dilemma, torn between my alma mater and my son's current institution. My son, who just completed his first year at Cal, and I had a truly memorable time at the game, which not only served as a wonderful bonding experience but allowed us to share in our mutual love for baseball.

The game was a heart-stopper. The Golden Bears' 14th comeback of the season was a sight to behold. The three runs in the seventh and eighth innings, leading to a triumphant 5-3 victory against Stanford, had us on the edge of our seats. The standout performances from Austin Turkington and Oliver Boone, who held Stanford scoreless over the final 4.1 innings, not only reaffirmed my son's choice to a commendable institution but a be a part of this made him even more proud to be a Bear.

The offensive display was equally impressive, with Cal finishing the evening with nine hits, and the bottom order - Max Handron, Jag Burden, and Dominic Smaldino - going a combined 6-for-11 with two runs scored and three driven in. It was an evening that truly showcased the Golden Bears' talent, determination, and spirit.

While I may bear Stanford in my heart, I could not help but feel a surge of pride for the Golden Bears. I look forward to many more such evenings, cheering on from the stands as my loyalties gradually shift from the Cardinal to the Bears.

Thank you for the fantastic opportunity. I am grateful for the warm welcome and inclusivity shown by the Berkeley community, which is an absolute testament to the ethos of your esteemed institution.
